PROCUREMENT, PURCHASING, TECHNICAL
SPECIFICATIONS Often the best prices for new trucks and
earthmoving equipment are obtained through preparation and
evaluation of public tenders. VEHTEC have become experts over
the years in the preparation of Technical Specifications, Tender
Documents, Evaluating Tenders, Negotiating Options or Variations,
Conducting Operator Evaluations' and making Purchase
Recommendations. Tender evaluations take into account capital
purchase values, likely salvage values at the predicted optimal
life, whole of life parts and servicing costs, operator preferences
and warranty and support arrangements. Common equipment
purchased, trucks with a range of rear body configurations such as
tippers and service vehicles, earthmoving equipment including
graders, front end loaders, backhoes, smaller skid steers and
excavators and a range of plant trailers. In some instances
VEHTEC will prepare the engineering design of the rear body or
trailer and project manage the manufacture to tender specs. This
is a small price to pay for the piece of mind that you have got the
right machine for the job at the right price.
In the case of second hand units we are registered valuers,
commonly at Government Auctions buying and selling equipment on
behalf of our clients. If you are struggling with a specific
requirement give one of our trained staff a call and we would be
happy to help. If we can't help you directly we will point you in
the right direction to save you time and effort..
When to Sell or Buy?
Capital Procurement Feasibility Analysis and Whole of Life Cost Analysis
VEHTEC has experience managing many makes and models of equipment used in a variety of operating environments and as a result, is able to identify and advise on the suitability of fleet units and equipment. Once areas of potential savings have been identified VEHTEC is able to perform a comprehensive capital procurement feasibility analysis that will forecast expenditure and operational savings throughout the life of the unit.
A business case would include:
- An evaluation of procurement options (buy, lease or hire) and identifying opportunities for sharing, hiring or outsourcing of fleet; and
- Whole of Life and Net Present Value calculations including operating and maintenance costs.
Happy Shopping!!
Make sure the price you're asking for your plant or vehicle is realistic. Too expensive and you may not get any interest. Too cheap and people may wonder what's wrong with the machine. Also remember to leave a bit of room for bargaining - 21st century buyers love to think they're getting a good deal.
What's my vehicle or plant worth?
One of the first things to do is find out what your current machine is worth, based on its age, mileage and condition. Now, you could wade through dozens of classifieds, comparing your vehicles condition and mileage to the dozens of other similar vehicles, or you could use VEHTEC’s
expertise as registered valuers to give you a current market value.
